The Frankham Group were engaged by Engie (prime contractor overseeing major works for Kingston University) as consultants for Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical, Public Health Engineering, Building Services and Sustainability Consultants for the Kingston Student Living project.

This key regeneration programme included extensions, alterations and improvements to student accommodation and educational facilities.

In addition, the project included refurbishment of over 1200 student apartments as well as a further 100 new build apartments in order to provide modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation.

A key definer on this project was the redevelopment of 5 listed buildings, formally part of a 19th century waterworks, to create a multi-function student union space, additional accommodation, a cafeteria and a reception area.

Phoenix Community Housing

The Frankham Group were commissioned by our client Phoenix Community Homes to assist them with a range of compliance services in order to compile the information to form the basis of their building safety case report for 43 blocks between 11m and 18m height (and a further two blocks that are over 18m).

These services have included:

  • 2 & 3D Measured Surveys/record plans/digital models.

  • Fire risk assessments, Type 4 (intrusive) Fire strategies

  • Fire door inspections

  • FRAEW cladding inspections

  • Structural surveys

  • Development of a resident engagement strategy

London Borough of Camden

The Frankham Group have been commissioned by the London Borough to provide a range of fire safety and associated consultancy across the whole portfolio of properties.

To date, these ongoing works have included:

  • Type 1 Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) – this ongoing programme focuses on a visual survey of the communal parts of a variety of buildings in order to ensure compliance with the RR(FS)O 2005 and subsequent Fire Safety Act 2022.

  • Intrusive Assessments in over 500 tenanted retail units within the Client’s portfolio in order to verify the viability of the Client’s ‘Stay Put’ strategies. This work was undertaken alongside our asbestos specialists who provided dynamic inspections enabling the intrusive works to take place without the need for further disruption to the commercial tenants.
